I love these types of Gig Harbor events that really showcase our downtown and this one is extremely popular. As summer activities wind down, people are looking for things to do and places to socialize and connect. I enjoy that I always run into someone I haven’t seen for years and get to catch up.
The Autumn Sip & Stroll is a tour along Gig Harbor’s beautiful waterfront sampling wines, brews, spirits, and tasty small bites at more than 20 businesses. It really lets you experience the community energy of a small town like Gig Harbor and is a great way to enjoy, support, and get to know the small businesses that make up the downtown while making new community connections.
This event is put on by the Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance and the Rotary Club of Gig Harbor.
What you Need to Know
On the event day, ticket holders will need to check in at the Harbor History Museum at 4121 Harborview Drive to receive their map, sip tickets, and wine glass. Check-in begins shortly before the event starts at noon. Wines that have been tasted and enjoyed can be purchased from the wine store at the Harbor History Museum which will remain open until 5 pm.
The Alliance will provide complimentary transportation via shuttle bus and water taxi throughout the waterfront to make it easy to visit all of the Stroll Stops throughout downtown.
Early-bird tickets can be purchased online for $40 through the month of August, . After that, General Admission tickets can be purchased online for $45 from. If tickets still remain, day of tickets can be purchased for $50 at the door. The Sip & Stroll’s have all sold out in advance, so get your tickets early!
While transportation is offered, you will still be doing a lot of walking so check the weather report and dress accordingly, along with wearing comfortable shoes. Gig harbor is a pretty casual place, making it easy to dress comfortably. Fortunately, we have historically had beautiful fall weather here and it is still usually sunny and pleasant well into October.
Participants will receive a commemorative tasting glass, a map of all Stroll Stop locations and vendors, and 15 sip tickets for alcohol. Additional sip tickets will be available for a small fee at the registration desk.
If you decide to stay in town and have dinner after, you will probably need to make a reservation as many of the restaurants will be very busy.
